How effective is auriculotherapy for reducing anxiety, stress or burnout among healthcare professionals, when compared to a control group, placebo or usual treatment?
Health professionals working in hospital assistance (nursing, medicine, physiotherapy, etc.
Auriculotherapy by pressure, acupuncture or electrical stimulation, with the use of seeds, spheres or microneedles will be included to assess the effects under anxiety, stress or burnout.
Use of auriculotherapy with other therapies, such as: no intervention (control), placebo (sham points) or usual treatment (use of psychotropic drugs, psychologic/psychiatric monitoring).
Primary: effects (positive or negative) of auriculotherapy on anxiety, stress or burnout in healthcare workers. Effect sizes will be expressed as odds ratios (for dichotomous data) and final weighted (or standardized) mean post-intervention differences (for continuous data) and their 95% confidence intervals will be calculated for analysis and modification as appropriate. Heterogeneity will be assessed statistically through the standard chi-squared and I squared tests.
